Sonder is a precious little eleven year old who lives in the village of Galette Chambon. He has two sisters and one brother. He and his brother used to be sponsored in school, but they fled the village when it was struck with gang violence. Now they are back in Galette Chambon and Sonder is ready to get back into school. He lives with his mother and father, and they are share croppers. They make a little money working the field and then they take some of the produce to market to sell. His favorite things to do are play with friends and brothers, go help in the garden, go to church, and study his lessons and do homework. When he grows up he wants to become a teacher.
