Wilberson is a bright and determined eighteen year old from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with his father, sister, and two brothers. He is only in the 5th grade right now because he and his siblings have been taking turns going to school. For the last few years, Wilberson has been helping his father work in the garden as a farmer. His siblings were sponsored, so they were able to attend school. However, because of the crippled economy due to gang activity, it has been extra hard. Wilberson and his father have been working hard to try to make ends meet, but it’s been very difficult. Wilberson asked if we could try to find a sponsor for him so that he can go to school with his siblings while his father continues to try to work the garden and take produce to market. This would make it possible for all of the kids to eat one meal a day and they can save their funds for eating on the weekend. Wilberson loves to work the garden with his father as well as hang out with friends. His favorite subject in school is mathematics. When he grows up he wants to be a farmer like his father.
