Jacson is a bright 12-year-old boy with big dreams and a resilient spirit. He lives in the village of Bonet with his parents, two sisters, and eight brothers. His parents work hard as local vendors, striving to provide for their large family of eleven children. For children in Bonnet, attending Maranatha School is a massive undertaking. The village is a three-hour walk from the school. Every morning, the children of Bonet gather to begin their trek. To ensure their safety, the parents have organized a rotation where one parent escorts the group to school and another meets them to walk them back home. This six-hour daily journey is a testament to how much this community values the quality of education provided by BGM schools. Jackson is at a critical age where staying in school is vital for his future. He is eager to learn and has already set his sights on a career that serves his community: he wants to be a teacher. He is particularly excited to study Creole and hopes to master his language to help the next generation of Haitian students.
