Youkenley J.R.

Youkenley is a ten year old who lives with his sister and two brothers in the village of Galette Chambon. His older sister is the caretaker of the family because their parents were killed in a tragic accident while riding on a large transport truck coming down the mountain from a market there. The siblings share a strong bond, and they all chip in together to survive on their own. Youkenley’s sister went to the BGM Professional school to learn about cosmetology so that she can do nails and hair for women in the village to make money. This, however, does not provide enough income for her to pay tuition for her brothers to go to school. They are hoping that Youkenley will find a sponsorship this year and then maybe his brother can find one as well next year.

Youkenley is a lively and curious boy with a bright future ahead of him. His days are spent enjoying games with his siblings and helping his family. He knows that he would enjoy school very much! He is eager to learn new things, with the hope of one day pursuing his dreams of becoming a farmer like his father was. Like many boys his age, he loves sports and enjoys playing with his friends in the village.
