Samuel is a joyful and imaginative three-year-old in the K-1 program at Maranatha School. He lives in Galette-Chambon with his parents and two sisters. His parents are vendors who sell cleaning products in the local market—but with ongoing challenges accessing the distributor, their supplies have run low, making it extremely difficult to earn enough to support the family.
Samuel’s two siblings are already sponsored, and he was thrilled to start school this past year. He did great in K-1 and is ready for K-2—but without a sponsor, he won’t be able to continue. Staying home not only puts his education at risk, but also makes it harder for his parents to work, as it’s too dangerous to take a young child to market where vendors are often robbed on the road.
Samuel loves to play with toys—his favorite is an old bicycle wheel he rolls with a stick while pretending he’s riding a motorcycle. In school, he loves coloring, and when he grows up, he hopes to become a doctor or a lab technologist.
