Osana is a fourteen year old who lives in Galette Chambon with some aunts and uncles and cousins. Her mother died and her father has never been around. None of her family members know when her birthday is, so for now, we have made today her birthday, September 24, 2011. She was first sponsored to go to school in 2016 and has been excelling in school ever since! (The photo above is from when she was first sponsored when she was five years old. More recent photos are posted below.) She is so excited about being able to go to school because all of her cousins go to school and she just never thought she could since she doesn’t have parents. The family members that she lives with cannot afford to pay for it. When she was first sponsored, she said that she wanted to learn how to read and write when she goes to school. Now she is in the fifth grade and getting ready to go to the high school next year! She loves to play with other kids in the village, and when asked what she wants to do when she grows up, she simply said that she wants to learn how to read and write. Now that she is older, she says that the wants to become a teacher when she grows up!
