Densley is a cheerful four-year-old boy who hopes to begin the K-2 program at BGM Preschool this fall if he receives a sponsor. He lives in the village of Galette Chambon with his parents and his older sister and baby brother.
Densley’s parents work in a large community garden where they help plant, grow, and harvest crops such as corn, sugarcane, and beans. As payment, they are allowed to keep a portion of the harvest to feed their family or sell at the market. Unfortunately, the income is very small, and traveling to the market has become increasingly dangerous, making it difficult for them to earn enough to support their family. If both of their older children are able to attend school through sponsorship, they will receive a nutritious hot meal each day and will no longer need to accompany their parents to the fields. This would also allow Densly’s parents to take on additional gardening work to increase their family’s income.
Densley is a happy little boy who loves playing with his friends, especially marbles. He is excited about starting school because he loves to sing and can’t wait to learn through songs that teach colors, fruits, vegetables, the days of the week, and the months of the year. One day, Densley dreams of becoming a doctor like the caring physician at the Hope Center Clinic, so he can help others in his community.
