Woodianaika is a bright five-year-old student in the K-2 program at BGM Primary in Haiti. She lives with her parents and her three sisters. Her parents work hard as vendors in the local market, but ongoing dangers at the market and along the roads have made it increasingly difficult for them to earn enough to support their family. They were able to enroll Woodianaika in school last year, but paying her tuition was a tremendous struggle. A sponsorship would allow them to use more of their limited income to provide food for their family while ensuring that Woodianaika can continue her education.
At home, Woodianaika enjoys helping her mother with household chores. Washing the dishes after meals is her special responsibility, and she is proud to do her part. In school, her favorite thing is learning to read and write. She is thrilled that she can now write her name and the alphabet, and she looks forward to learning how to write words in the coming year. One day, Woodianaika hopes to become a nurse so she can care for others and make a difference in her community.
