Elna is a eleven year old from Galette Chambon who lives with her mother, father, three sisters, and two brothers. Her parents do not have a dependable source of income, so it makes it difficult to be able to afford to send their children to school. Two of her sisters have sponsors and one of her brothers has a sponsor, so she and her other brother are hoping to get sponsors soon. With all of the children sponsored, this will create a huge relief for the family because not only will they all be educated, but they will eat at school, so their parents will know their children are not going hungry. Elna loves to help her mother work around the house as well as study, play with her friends, and go to church with her family. Her favorite thing to study is Creole, and when she grows up, she wants to become a doctor.
