Kerby is an eleven year old boy in the fifth grade in our BGM Primary School. He lives with his parents, two sisters, and three brothers in the village of Bonette near Galette Chambon. His parents are farmers and they try to support their family by selling produce they grow in the garden. They do make a little money, but not nearly enough to support their family and send their children to school. They were able to pay registration for Kerby to start school, but they are unable to afford to continue paying his tuition. They want desperately for Kerby to go to school so that he can have a chance at a better future than they have had. Neither of them were able to go to school when they were children.  When Kerby is not in school, he enjoys studying his lessons from school. His favorite subject in school is mathematics. When he grows up, he wants to own a car rental company.
