Félantina is a quiet and sweet ten year old from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with her mother, brother , and sister. Their mother has no source of income, so the family relies on the generosity of others to survive. Félantina and her brother both want desperately to go to school, but their mother just keeps telling them she can’t afford it and they must wait and pray for God to provide. When we found out that Félantina and her brother Felando had not been going to school, we immediately put them on the sponsorship page to try to find sponsors. We are now praying with the family that they will find sponsors soon so that they do not miss any more school. Félantina loves to play with friends and her brother, go to church with her family, study her friends’ books from school, eat, and bathe. When she grows up, she wants to become a teacher and maybe even a principal of a school because she wants to help other children get an education. She says a good education is something she will never take for granted because she understands what a privilege it is to go to school.
