Mivelka is a bright seven year old from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with her parents, sister, and four brothers. Her parents are vendors in the village, who, like all of the other parents struggling to support their families, have found themselves struggling this year because of the crashing economy and the violence and chaos that now plague their country. This year, Mivelka was able to pay her deposit and start school, but as the school year progressed, her parents were unable to keep up the payments for her tuition. She was allowed to finish the school year, but she will not be able to register for next school year unless she finds a sponsor. Mivelka enjoys working with her parents, playign with friends, and studying her lessons. Her favorite subject is mathematics, and shen she grows up she wants to be a teacher.
