Amos is a sweet little four year old who lives in Hope Center village with his parents and grandmother and cousins. His grandmother is Jillian who works at the orphanage. His parents don’t have a reliable source of income, so they live in the village with Jillian who struggles to support all of them. Amos’s father goes into Port au Prince each day to a little phone repair shop where he does make a little money, but it still isn’t enough to feed the family and pay school tuition for their son. They are in great need of help to be able to send their little Amos to school. Amos was born at Hope Center and is now ready to start kindergarten! He loves to play with his friends and cousins, go to church, and help with chores around the house. He loves to color and go to VBS. When he grows up, he wants to become an engineer.

Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
