Microlina is a 3rd grader at BGM Primary School. She lives in the village of Gros Balanse with her grandmother, two aunts, four siblings, and a host of cousins. She has a really big family. Her grandmother works as a vendor in the local market and her father died three years ago. Her grandmother tries to support the family but she often doesn’t even make enough to feed the family. They often go hungry, however, now that Macrolina is in school, she at least gets a hot meal there. She is very thankful for the opportunity to get a good education. When she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.
