Duna is a precious eleven year old from a very big family. She lives with her aunt, Marie Therese Gabriel, in Hope Center village because her parents have too many children to take care of at once. She has three sisters and seven brothers. Her father works as a substitute security guard in another town and her mother is a vendor. Duna loves to work in any way she can. She helps her aunt clean and takes care of the chickens and garden at her aunt’s house while her aunt works at Hope Center. Her favorite subject is history and she is not sure what she wants to be when she grows up. She says her favorite thing about her country of Haiti is the beautiful flowers that grow here all year round.
