Chaina is a bright fifteen year old from the village of Galette Chambon. She has two brothers and four sisters and they all live with their aunt. Their mother died while giving birth to her youngest sister two years ago. Chaina loves children and she loves to teach her younger siblings things. She believes that one day she can teach other children in the village how to read and write. She is very thankful that she can go to school, but her aunt cannot afford to pay her tuition, so she must have a sponsor to continue. She absolutely loves school and wants to be able to continue! Her favorite subject is mathematics. When she’s not in school, she enjoys helping her aunt with the children and doing other housework. She also enjoys tutoring other children in the village in their school work and going to church. When she grows up, she wants to become a teacher.
