Wydensley is a bright seven-year-old who lives in Galette Chambon with his parents, one sister, and two brothers. He recently graduated from BGM Preschool and is excited to begin first grade. He looks forward to continuing to learn how to read and write while discovering more about his country and the world around him.
Wydensley’s parents are hardworking vendors who prepare and sell homemade patés, a popular pastry, at the local market. In recent years, however, dangerous roads and expensive road taxes have caused fewer people to travel to the market. Many families now shop only in their own villages and can no longer afford small treats like patés. As a result, Wydensley’s parents have struggled to earn enough income to provide for their family and pay for their children’s education.
Wydensley loves learning to read and write. He was especially proud when he learned to write his name and several short words in Creole during preschool. He enjoys school and is eager to continue learning in first grade. One day, he hopes to become a doctor so he can care for people in his community. A sponsorship would give Wydensley the opportunity to continue his education while helping ease the financial burden on his hardworking family.
