Kerline is a cheerful six-year-old who recently graduated from BGM Preschool and is excited to begin first grade this fall. She lives in Galette Chambon with her parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Her family works a small garden near their home, growing produce that they take to the local market to sell. Although they work hard, the income they earn is very limited. Last year they managed to pay for Kerline’s preschool tuition, but it was a constant financial struggle. Kerline’s brothers and sisters are already sponsored, and her family is praying that she, too, will receive a sponsor so that all of their children can continue their education and receive a nutritious meal each school day while their parents work to provide for the family.
When Kerline is not in school, she loves playing with her three best friends who live nearby. Each day they enjoy walking to and from school together with her siblings, laughing and playing games along the way. At school, Kerline especially enjoys mathematics. She loves using the numbers she has learned to create fun games and is excited to continue learning even more in first grade. One day, she hopes to become a nurse so she can care for people in her community. A sponsorship would give Kerline the opportunity to continue her education and pursue her dream while bringing hope and encouragement to her hardworking family.
