Esther Landie is a sweet three-year-old girl who attends the BGM Preschool K-1 program. She lives in Galette Chambon with her parents and three sisters. Her parents work hard to provide for their family by growing vegetables in a small garden near their home and selling the produce at a stand in the village market. When they are able, they also prepare and sell cooked beans and rice to earn extra income. However, rising food costs and the decreasing ability of families in the community to purchase produce have made it increasingly difficult to support their family. With all of their children now reaching school age, paying school tuition for each child has become an overwhelming challenge.
Esther Landie has developed a genuine love for learning. Although she is only three years old, she enjoys taking her lessons home and practicing them even when no homework has been assigned. She especially loves writing and spends time teaching neighborhood children what she has learned, pretending to be a kindergarten teacher. One day, Esther Landie hopes to become a nurse after being inspired by the caring staff at the Baptist Ministries Hope Center Clinic, where she experienced kindness and compassion. A sponsorship would give Esther Landie the opportunity to continue her education and pursue the dream that is already growing in her young heart.
