Cherdensly is a joyful four-year-old who is deeply connected to his community in Galette Chambon. He finds great happiness in the simple things: going to church, singing, and playing with his friends. When he looks toward the future, he doesn’t dream of a big career in another part of his country; he simply wants to be a farmer, just like the hardworking men who sustain his village.
Cherdensly’s mother is a dedicated kindergarten teacher at one of the BGM schools. While she is proud to educate the children of her community, her modest salary as a single mother isn’t enough to cover the full cost of living and school tuition for both of her children. She currently pays for her older son’s education, but the added expense of a second tuition is simply more than her small income can bear.
Cherdensly is eager to join the K2 program at BGM Primary. He is especially excited about coloring and has a unique plan for his studies—he wants to learn how to read by singing. Having him in school would not only fulfill his academic potential but also provide his mother with the peace of mind that her son is receiving a quality, Christ-centered education in the same community where she serves.
