Mikerline is a comical and loving 13 year old from the remote village of Katanmòt near Galette Chambon. She lives with her mother, two sisters, and three brothers. They wanted to evacuate the village when the gang hit, but they didn’t have anywhere else to go. So they have tried to keep close to home and only leave the house to go to school and back home. This has made it very hard for her Mikerline’s mother to work. She is a vendor in the local market, but not only is it very dangerous to go to market, but it also nearly impossible to replenish her inventory to sell. This has put a huge strain on the family budget. Mikerline’s mother is thankful that her children have been able to go to school so that they can at least eat there and she knows that while they are behind the walls of the school, they are safe. Mikerline enjoys studying, playing with friends, sleeping, and helping her mother work around the house. Her favorites subject is mathematics, and when she grows up, she wants to become a professor.
