Jean Smith is a lively little five year old in the K1 program at BGM Preschool. He lives with his mother, three sisters, and two brothers in the village of Galette Chambon. His mother is a vendor at the local market. She struggles to make ends meet with the small income she makes at market. She was able to pay registration to get her kids started in school, but she has not been able to afford to continue paying tuition. Jean Smith really needs a sponsor if he is to continue in school. Jean Smith enjoys playing tic-tac-toe with his friends, going to church, and coloring. His favorite thing to learn in school is writing and coloring. When he grows up, he wants to become a doctor or a teacher.
