Nedjika is a fourteen year old from the area called Place Charles in Galette Chambon. She lives with her grandmother, two sisters, and one brother. Her father moved to Brazil to find work and send home to support the family. Her grandmother does not have a source of income other than a little money that her father sends from Brazil. It was very hard for her father to find a job in Brazil and he barely makes enough money to survive. Sometimes he is able to send money to Haiti and sometimes he cannot. It is very hard for her grandmother to take care of the grandchildren on her own. It would be very helpful if Nedjika had a sponsor to help her with school. When Nedjika is not in school, she enjoys studying and working around the house. Her favorite subject in school is French. When she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.
