Chedna is a precious little four year old who lives with her mother in the village of Galette Chambon. She is an only child and her mother works as a share cropper to support her daughter. She has struggled tremendously to be able to work ever since Chedna was born because it’s hard to work when you have a child to take care of by yourself. Her mother loves to work though, so she is thinking that if she can send Chedna to Kindergarten, she can work while Chedna learns and gets a hot meal for lunch. She can’t go to school, however, without a sponsor. Chedna enjoys playing with friends, coloring, and going to church. When she grows up, she wants to be a nurse.
