Renaldo is a comical little six year old from the village of Galette Chambon. He lives with his parents, one sister, and two brothers. His parents are farmers who run a garden and sell the produce at market. It has been really hard to make enough money to feed their family during the recent downturn in the economy and chaos in their country. They want their children to go to school, but they just cannot afford it. They are praying they can find a sponsor for Renaldo so he can join his siblings in school. Renaldo enjoys working with his family in the garden. He thinks that his favorite subject in school will be Kreyol. When he grows up, he wants to study to be a doctor or a truck driver.
