 Sherlanda S.L. is a thirteen year old from the village of Galette Chambon. She lives with her parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Her parents are vendors who, like so many others, are suffering in a difficult economy. They want to be able to continue to send their children to school, but it has just become too much of a burden on them financially. Sherlanda enjoys hanging out with friends, going to church, working around the house, and studying lessons. Her favorite subject is mathematics, and when she grows up, she wants to study something in the medical field.
