Kataleya is a very bright twelve year old from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with her mother, three sisters, and two brothers. Her mother is a vendor in the local market. She barely makes enough money to put food on the table much less pay tuition for school. Because of this, Kataleya has already missed three years of school. She is very smart and loves school, so it makes her so sad to have to sit at home while others go to school. If she had a sponsor, she could go to school too. Kataleya enjoys working around the house, bathing, sleeping, and eating when she can. Her favorite subject in school is Experimental Science, and when she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.
