Alphamendy is a happy and bright twelve year old who lives in Hope Center village with his parents, sister, and two brothers. Alphamendy’s parents are vendors who try to provide for their family by selling household goods and snacks, but it has become very expensive to buy merchandise for their little shop and people can’t afford extra things anymore. Everyone is just fighting to survive while gangs tear the country apart. It makes Alphamendy so sad to see the condition that his country is in. He wishes he could do something to help right now, but he realizes that the best thing he can do right now is get his education. He can’t continue to do that, however, if he can’t get a sponsor. He parents just cannot afford school right now. Alphamendy’s favorite subject in school is mathematics and when he grows up he wants to become a policeman.
