Gaenby is a bright and energetic six year old who is currently in K3 at Maranatha school. He lives with his mother, father, three sisters, and two brothers in the village of Ti Source near Galette Chambon. It takes him about an hour to walk with his siblings to school each day. His little legs are very tired once he gets to school, but he doesn’t mind. He LOVES going to school. The principal at Maranatha agreed to let him go ahead and start school this year because his parents don’t want him to get any farther behind in school. One of his siblings is already sponsored in school but he was not able to start school when he was five because his parents couldn’t afford it. They don’t have a dependable source of income, and they depend on the generosity of family and friends to help them provide for their children. They were all going to a school in Ti Source last year, but they just couldn’t afford to pay the tuition and the school told them they could not return if they didn’t pay. They had heard that not only does BGM have a very good school, but it also has a sponsorship program and the students all eat a hot meal every day. To this family, it is worth the walk! They are praying the Gaenby gets a sponsor so that he can continue going to school.
