Frenel is a bright nine year old who lives in the village of Galette Chambon with his older sister. Their parents both recently died and now his big sister is caring for the two of them. They do not have a source of support other than family members who live nearby to help feed them. His sister is sponsored in school, but Frenel cannot go to school unless he has a sponsor. Frenel enjoys playing with friends in the village and learning to read. When he grows up, he thinks he wants to become a doctor or a tap tap driver.
