Sadina is a quiet little eleven year old from the village of Bonette who lives with her parents and four sisters. Her parents try to earn a living working in a garden, but it isn’t enough to provide for the family and pay for school too. The children have been taking turns going to school whenever the parents can save up enough money to pay installments on tuition. Sadina is one of only two sixth graders who does not have a sponsor at BGM Primary school. She would LOVE to have a sponsor not only to help her parents out, but also so that she can be like all of her classmates who have sponsors. They get their uniforms and backpacks, books, and supplies from BGM, and sometimes they even get gifts from their sponsor in America! When Sadina is not in school, she enjoys cleaning the house for her mother. Her favorite subject is French, and when she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.

Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
