Hoagens is a very bright ten year old who lives in Hope Center village with his parents, one brother, and two sisters. His mother is Ruth, one of the tailors at RH Kouti where they make uniforms for the BGM Schools. He is so proud of his mother’s successful business. His father is disabled because of a heart defect, so he is at home with the children while mom works. They are very thankful for his mother’s job, but the hospital bills they accumulate from his father’s illness are great. It puts a big strain on the family during the time of year when uniforms are not being made. Hoagens wants desperately to be sponsored not just to help his family, but also just to know he has a sponsor who loves and prays for him daily. He says he could use the prayers very much! Hoagens favorite things to do are go to church and help his parents around the house. His favorite subject is mathematics. When he grows up, he wants to study Theology and become a pastor.

Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
