Rodine is an eleven year old from the village of Nan Dal near Galette Chambon. She lives with her mother, three brothers, and two sisters. She is one of a large group of children who leave their village very early to walk together to school at the BGM School because they can get a sponsorship to help pay for their school. Rodine’s mother does make a little money as a cook and sells the things she cooks at market, however, it is not enough to support a family of six. Rodine loves to study and her favorite subject is mathematics. When she grows up, she wants to go to school to learn to be a cook and get a job cooking at a restaurant.

We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
