Wogendorff is a bright thirteen year old from the village of Galette Chambon. He lives with his parents, grandmother, five sisters, and two brothers. His father is a professor and his mother is a vendor at market. His grandmother is not in good health and his parents struggle to provide the medical care she needs as well as feed their family. He is proud that his father is able to work as a teacher, but they don’t make a lot of money. It just isn’t enough to provide for the whole family and send all of the kids to school too. Wogendorff has big dreams of becoming an attorney, so he loves school and he loves to study. His favorite subject in school is physics. When he is not in school, he enjoys taking care of the family goats.
