CHEDNA is a happy little fourteen year old from the village of Dalgros near Galette Chambon. She lives with her mother, three sisters, and one brother. Her mother sells things at market near the river. She does make enough money to feed her family but not enough to pay for their school. When the economy is slow, she has difficulty feeding the family, but their family is good about helping one another out. Chedna loves to play with her friends, eat, work with her mother, and study. Her favorite subject is Creole, and when she grows up, she wants to become a doctor. Her favorite thing about the village is the houses that BGM builds for families and the clinic. When she grows up, she wants to become a doctor.
Chedna was sponsored for five years when her parents decided to evacuate the village for their safety. Now they have returned to the village so that Chedna can return to school.
