Ronita is a hard working fifteen year old from the village of Galette Chambon. She lives with her father, brother, and sister. Her father is a farmer and he works so hard in his garden, but the constant droughts reduce his income every year. Ronita tries to supplement their family income by cooking pates and selling them in the village in the mornings, but this doesn’t produce much money. She saves it up every year so that when it is time to register for school, her father doesn’t have to worry about paying. It is getting harder and harder, however, for her to help with her siblings, cook, do housework, and study for school all at the same time. She really wants a sponsor so she can focus on helping around the house and studying. Her favorite subject is French and when she grows up she wants to become a nurse.

**Please note that each year, we depend on village volunteers whose understanding of the measuring process may create variations in accuracy. Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made. You can assume that the child will move on to the next grade up, but it is not guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
