Mackenson is the brother of our friend, Bicly. He is twelve years old and lives in the village of Galette Chambon with is mother, step father, two brothers and two sisters. Their only source of income is a small market that his mother keeps in her house. She sells crackers, macaroni, rice, beans, tomato paste, and other things. Mackenson has been able to go to school, but because his mother cannot afford to send all of her children to school, his little sister cannot go. Mackenson wants to get a sponsorship so that one day when his sister is ready for school, she can go too. When he grows up, Mackenson wants to be a construction worker or engineer.
