Birthday: February 20, 2011 Sponsorship #: 2018-00-034JHC

Naika is a sweet twelve year old from the village of Gwo Balanse. The picture above is from when she first entered into the sponsorship program in 2018. See below for updated information and photos. ……Naika lives with her mother, father, brother and sister as well as other cousins and her aunt. There are eleven people that live in her house with her. Naika’s father is a farmer, but there is no water source for his garden, so his crops usually burn up if there is not enough rain. Recently her family has suffered great tragedy. She and her mother had gone to Hope Center Clinic to get her baby brother’s vaccinations. Her siblings were at school and her father was out in the garden working. They had left a cell phone battery charging on a wire in their house and the house caught on fire. By the time they got back home, the house had burned to the ground. There wasn’t much to the one-room, mud house to begin with, but at least it was a house. All of their clothes, beds, other possessions, all burned up. Naika’s cousins are all sponsored, but Naika has never been put in the program. Her mother would like to get her a sponsor so that they can focus on rebuilding their lives and rest assured that their children will all be in school. Naika will be in the first grade when she starts school in the fall if she finds a sponsor. Here in this picture she is wearing a pretty little dress that someone in the states sent to Hope Center for us to give to people in need. Naika was definitely in need. She says thank you for the pretty dress!!
