Nephtania is a spunky little six year old from the village of Galette Chambon. She lives with her mother, father, three sisters, and one brother. Her parents do not have a constant source of income. Sometimes they get to work in the garden as share croppers but it is hard for them to make ends meet. Her father also raises goats and that is how he paid for her school this year. He sold a goat! But Nephtania knows that next year it will be harder because her little sister will be ready to start school, and they might not be able to afford all of their tuition. When Nephtania is not in school, she loves to cook. Her favorite subject in school is reading, and when she grows up, she wants to become an English teacher!

**Please note that each year, we depend on village volunteers whose understanding of the measuring process may create variations in accuracy. Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made. You can assume that the child will move on to the next grade up, but it is not guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
