THE PHOTO ABOVE IS FROM 2018 WHEN CHEDENIKA FIRST ENTERED THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. CHEDENIKA’S FAMILY EVACUATED THE VILLAGE IN MARCH OF 2023 WHEN THE GANG ATTACKED THE VILLAGE. NOW THE FAMILY HAS RETURNED AND WOULD LIKE TO PUT THEIR CHILD BACK IN SCHOOL. SHE STARTED THE PROGRAM. IN 2018 AND WAS THREE YEARS OLD. SHE WAS IN SCHOOL FOR SIX YEARS BEFORE SHE HAD TO LEAVE. SHE IS NOW IN THE 3RD GRADE. SHE MUST HAVE A SPONSOR IN ORDER TO RETURN TO SCHOOL.
Chedenika is a shy little three year old from the village of Dal Gros who lives with her mama and five sisters. She is the youngest of the six girls. Their father died last year and Director Salomon gave her mother a job as a cook at the school afterwards. Although mama is very happy to have a job, she doesn’t make enough to support six children in school. Most of Chednika’s sisters are sponsored already, but Chednika needs a sponsor too so that the money her mama makes as a cook can be used to take care of the family.
