Yousemaylie is a spunky nine year old girl from the village of Galette Chambon. She has two sisters and one brother. They live with her mother in a small village compound near several aunts and uncles. Her father is dead and her mother does not have a steady source of income. Her favorite things to do are study, play with friends, eat, and go to church. She enjoys singing in her church. Her favorite subject is Experimental Science and one day she wants to become a doctor. She is thankful that her principal is allowing her to go to school this year while she waits for a sponsor, however, she prays daily that she will get a sponsor so she can go to school without worrying her mother over how she will pay for it.

**Please note that each year, we depend on village volunteers whose understanding of the measuring process may create variations in accuracy. Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made. You can assume that the child will move on to the next grade up, but it is not guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
