Jessika is a nineteen year old girl from the village of Gwo Balanse near Galette Chambon. (The photo above is from when she first entered the sponsorship program in 2017. More recent photos are below). She lives with her mother, five brothers and three sisters. Her father died last year and they had to move off of his family land after he died, so they now live with her grandparents. Her mother is a food vendor, but she does not make much money. Last year Jessika had to sit out of school so that her younger sister could start school. Jessika really wants to return to school because she has great hopes of becoming a nurse one day and she knows she needs a good education to become a nurse.

The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
