THE PHOTO ABOVE IS FROM 2016 WHEN MARIE CARMELLE FIRST ENTERED THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. SHE WENT TO SCHOOL FOR SEVEN YEARS AND DID VERY WELL BUT THEN THE COUNTRY BEGAN TO BECOME MORE DANGEROUS AND MANY FARMS CLOSED DOWN. HER FAMILY MOVED TO ANOTHER VILLAGE TO TRY TO FARM THERE, BUT DECIDED THIS YEAR TO RETURN TO GALETTE CHAMBON TO TRY TO FARM THERE AGAIN. MARIE CARMELLE WANTS SO BADLY TO RETURN TO SCHOOL. SHE MUST HAVE A SPONSOR TO DO SO.

Marie Carmelle is a sassy ninteen year old girl from a small village called Nan Plasman near Galette Chambon. She lives with her parents and brother. Her parents are farmers and they sell what they grow in the local market. Sometimes they do well and other times not so well. It is very hard work for very little money. Marie Carmelle does enjoy going with her mother to market though. She thinks that when she grows up, she will either continue helping with the garden and market or she may try to become a teacher. For now, she just wants to be able to go to school.
