Neftalie Innocent is eight years old and lives in Galette Chambon with her mother, father, and three brothers. Her father is a farmer and her mother works as a vendor. They used to live over closer to Joel’s school and she went to his school, but after two draughts destroyed her father’s garden, they had to sell their property to survive and they moved in with family. Neftalie misses school and wishes she can go back. Recently, a team from Forest, MS, came by to meet her family and a lady on the team said she wanted to help send Neftalie to school. She was sooooo excited!! Neftalie loves school! She loves to study math, and she wants to be a nurse one day. When asked what he likes about living in Haiti, she said that living in Haiti is hard. It is a beautiful country, but it makes her sad that so many children are hungry.
