Limenka is a happy little eleven year from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with her mother, two sisters, and one brother. Their father died several years ago of typhoid. Her mother does not have a source of income, so they are dependent on her grandparents to help them make ends meet. Limenka loves school and she loves playing with her friends. Her grandfather was able to help with her school this year so that she could start kindergarten, but in order to do so, her oldest sister had to sit out of school. Their mother prays desperately that Limenka can find a sponsor so that all of her children can go to school without missing years of school. When Limenka grows up, she wants to become a nurse. Her mother knows that if she finds a sponsor, Limenka will be able to make her dream come true.
