Laina is a 21 year old young lady who is determined to finish school and lift her family out of poverty. She is a “senior” at BGM High School now which is technically the 13th grade, also called NSIV. She lives with her father, two sisters, and one brother in the village of Galette Chambon. Her father is a farmer. He does not make enough money to support his family as well as pay tuition for school. The only way Laina can continue and finish school is if she is sponsored. Laina enjoys singing, dancing, and studying her lessons. Her favorite subject in school is French. When she finishes school, she says that she would like to teach kindergarten first while she saves to continue school and eventually become a pediatrician.
