Resilia is an ambitious 23 year old young lady from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with her mother, six sisters, and two brothers. She was in the sponsorship program back in 2017 but had to drop out of school in 2021 to help with her family. Their father died in 2017 and Resilia and her siblings had not been able to go to school after his death. Their mother was devastated after their father’s death, and although she tries to make money as a cook and vendor, she often stays in the bed all day and doesn’t cook things to sell. Resilia believed her mother was depressed, but her grandparents started taking her to talk to the pastor every day and she got better. Now that her mother is finally in a good place again, Resilia wants to finish school, but she must find a sponsor to do so. When Resilia has free time, she likes to study lessons, learn new skills, and play soccer with her friends. Last year she was on the girls’ soccer team at school and she misses it very much. She does enjoy going to the games though to support her friends. Resilia hopes to become a doctor of psychology one day so that she can help people like her mother who become sick because they are so sad.
