Samuel is a 13-year-old student in the second grade at BGM Primary School. He lives in the village of Bonet with his parents, three sisters, and four brothers. As the oldest of eight children, Samuel understands the importance of helping his family and setting an example for his younger siblings.

Samuel’s parents are sharecroppers on a large farm near Bonet. They work long hours planting crops, pulling weeds, and harvesting produce. They are allowed to keep a portion of the harvest to feed their family or sell at the local market. During the planting season, however, there is often little or no produce to sell, leaving the family with very little income. These difficult months make it challenging to pay school fees for all of their children, even though they deeply value education and want each of them to have the opportunity for a brighter future and the daily hot meal provided at school.

When he is not in school, Samuel enjoys working alongside his parents in the garden and helping with chores around the home. His favorite subject is mathematics, and he dreams of becoming a doctor one day so he can serve others in his community. Thanks to a recent good harvest, Samuel has been able to attend school this year, but with eight children to provide for, his family is uncertain whether they will be able to keep him enrolled in the coming school year. A sponsorship would help ensure Samuel can continue his education and pursue the future he hopes for.
