WOODLOVE is a dedicated ninth-grade student at BGM High School who lives in the village of Galette Chambon with her parents, her two sisters, and her brother. She comes from a hardworking family that depends on both small-scale farming and selling goods at the local market to make a living.

Her parents grow produce on a small farm near their home and take it to market to sell. In recent years, however, providing for the family has become increasingly difficult. Unpredictable weather, including drought and severe storms, has damaged or destroyed their crops. On top of this, the cost of transporting goods to market has risen sharply due to high illegal road taxes, making it even harder for the family to earn a steady income.

Woodlove is a diligent and helpful young lady who takes pride in supporting her family. She enjoys working in the garden, helping prepare goods for market, and contributing wherever she is needed. At school, her favorite subject is citizenship. She is especially passionate about learning Haiti’s history, government, and civic life, and she participates in a local group where students read, discuss, and think critically about the challenges facing their country.

Looking ahead, Woodlove dreams of becoming an attorney so she can help bring justice and positive change to her community. A sponsor would provide her with the opportunity to continue her education and pursue her goals, while easing the financial burden her family currently faces.
