SAMUEL is a 15-year-old young man who is eager for the opportunity to return to school and continue his education. Tragically, both of his parents passed away about five years ago. Even before their deaths, Samuel had not been able to attend school because his family could not afford the cost of education. After losing their parents, Samuel and his siblings were lovingly taken in by a neighbor who now cares for them as their own. He lives with his two sisters and two brothers in his adoptive family’s home.
Because Samuel has been out of school for so long, he was required to take an entrance exam to determine his academic level. The results showed that he is prepared to begin in the third grade. Although he is far behind for his age, Samuel is determined to work hard and catch up. If he performs well each year, he may be able to skip grades and advance more quickly.
Samuel loves learning and is especially interested in mathematics, which is his favorite subject. He dreams not only of attending regular school classes, but also professional training classes in the future. His greatest desire is to become an educator one day so he can help teach and encourage others. With the support of a sponsor, Samuel will have the chance to pursue the education he has long desired and build a brighter future for himself and his family.
